Keeper of the Leaves

For the last couple of years, to celebrate Inktober, I'd decided to do a complete image for the month instead of drawing daily sketches, as this would allow me to devote a large block of time for an individual project. That being said, I love all the different things one can try through sketches, and its a great way to hone technique and subject.

I actually started penciling this piece as August moved into September to get it ready for inking in October.  The idea of leaving the design work on the figure in wash came early on in the conceptual stage, and I had to go back and constantly darken the back ground in relation to her as the pattern became more developed.
