Just time plus a lot of little marks! :XD: Actually, I get wrapped up in the detail and loose track of time. It drives me crazy, but I think I secretly enjoy it. Thanks so much for the kind words, Ophelie!

Thanks, Cenkaz! Sometimes I go a little overboard on the detail, but working so much with ink, it lets me really get into a lot of different textures and such. When I paint, I don't do quite as much detail...well...I try and not do so much detail, lol!

Thanks for the kind words and fave!

Hi, Lara. I apologize for the late reply, but your message has been "buried." I wish DA would go from older messages to the newer ones, instead of the other way around, lol. But I wanted to say thank you so much for your commets. Nowdays, I'm trying to simplify things just a little bit, but I'm not making much progress in that area. All the new pieces I am doing seem to be every bit as detailed as the ones that go before, lol!

I could take a lesson from your work. Beautiful in its conception and emotion conveyed, I love the way that you have designed your compositions! Keep up the fine work!

Thanks, Moose Mama.
This piece was penciled last summer and inked in the fall. I think if I was to do it again today I would approach it entirely different, but I guess that is what makes doing art such an intriguing process.

This one seemed to take forever! I was really glad when it was finished, and needless to say, didn't want to do another tapestry for a while.

Thanks for the fave, Annago!

Thanks so much for your comments and the fave, Bruno. You are absolutely correct on the vase. I think I got so caught up in the background that I neglected the foreground. It looked alright in the pencil stage, but after I inked it, it was like: "D'uoh!"

Live and learn, I suppose. Thanks for the visit!

Thanks, Michelle! What is interesting is that, originally, this was penciled back in the summer. If I did it today, I would probably draw it completely different!

Hi, Christine. Thanks so much for your kind words. I've never done any "proper" archaeological illustration, although I think sometimes that I do enough research into various subjects to enable me to, lol!

I tend to label most of my work "historical fantasy" because I try to make them a complete as possible in regards to armor, clothing, weapons, etc. The fantasy element is self evident, I think.

Thanks once again for your visit!
