As an artist, there are many things which capture my imagination, such as mood, lighting, and texture. Recently, when I was looking through the gallery of fellow Deviant Janne-Landet, the image entitled Wind caught my eye.
While I don’t make it a habit of re-interpreting established photographs, and while she already maintains a gallery of delightful stock images, I knew that I had to draw “Wind.” Thankfully, when I inquired about permission to do so, she graciously consented.
Because I prefer to shoot my own reference, I had to ask myself, “Why do you want to draw this?” Perhaps it’s the mood of the piece. Maybe it had to do with the lighting. Of course, the textural detail was alluring. I finally realized that, while it is all these reasons, and many more, I also think it had something to do with a shared love for the same music. Hence, the name, "Stolen Child."
You are very kind to say. I don't get enough chance to work in graphite, but when I do, I really enjoy the medium. Thanks so much for the fave on this one, Vladimir!
Thanks, MS! It had been a while since I used graphite, so it was a lot of fun to try my hand at blending again instead of doing everything with the hard lined ink, lol.
Im in love with all your work!
