Medium: Ink, Water-dyes Time: 16 hours Copyright Notice: 2008 by Bob Giadrosich/Sharayah Press. All Rights Reserved. A portfolio image. Something uncomplicated. I mostly listened to Loreena McKinnett's music while working on this, and perhaps I could cite All Souls Night as a main influence for the colors, with its emphasis on autumn imagery, but somehow I keep coming back to the opening lines of The Mummers' Dance: "When in the Springtime of the year, When the trees are crowned with leaves, When the ash and oak and the birch and yew are dressed in ribbons fair. When owls call the breathless moon in the blue veil of the night, the shadows of the trees appear admist the lantern light." All of it seasonal. All of it seemingly apropos for this time in my life. All in all, a nice image to start the New Year with. |
