Six more sketches that will be included in my "Sketchbook Project: 2012," to be released next year. Since September, in addition to the Uni Pin Tech Pens, Sharpie, ball point pen, and various tipped, black markers, I've also been using brush on some of the pieces. I don't set down an ruled lines or measurements, but am content to free-hand everything, which gives the line work a more organic feel and thus, a little more life.

Here's a selection of six that I did in December.

From top (left to right):

1). Wolf: Increasingly, I'm drawing more animals. The wolf was inked with brush, and the background with my Uni Fine Line pens .
2). BFF's: These two characters acted as my preview sketch earlier this month. That would be Rotisserie (on the left), and his best pal, Lugnut (on the right). Here's a look at the larger work: [link]
3). City Streets: Mixing quite a few influences in this one, architectural renderings are always right up there with some of my favorite subjects!
4). Christmas Elf: This was done just around that time, and was completed in a day. The concept and execution was finished very quickly.
5). Mountain Storm: The large area of black helps to create the mood of this piece, which was styled after traditional Chinese painting techniques.
6). Jack of all Trades: Sketch 183, this will be the last one in the book. Sort of a futuristic piece, I always enjoy designing clothing and settings.

With these six sketches, this project is closed!

Thanks so much for checking the work, PG! I've been doing a lot of new work lately, however, as most of it is slated for publication, I can't show it right now. But, that being said, I should be able to post something from a few projects in the next week or so.

And thanks for the Facebook "like!" :D

The texture and detail on the wolf really caught my attention - that's an incredibly detailed sketch. And you used a brush! Totally awesome.

Thanks, John, for the kind words and the fave. Now I've got to put it all together into some type of format for publication. I guess you could say the true work has just begun, lol. :D

I think it will be. :XD: I want this one to look a little different than my other two books, and I actually do enjoy the design process; including selection of all the physical elements of the book. So, time to dust off all the various hats it'll take to bring this one together, including my "promotional hat" for the eventual Kickstarter campaign! :D
