Green Eggs and Pencils    Recently, I've been reading Dr. Seuss. I've perused "The Cat in the Hat," "Fox in Socks," and my perennial favorite, "Green Eggs and Ham."
    If you are not familiar with the last one, it is about a fellow named Sam-I-am, who tries to get another fellow to eat green eggs and ham in a variety of places and in a multitude of ways, such as: here or there (or anywhere), in a house, with a mouse, in a box, with a fox, in a car, in a tree, on a train, in the dark, in the rain, with a goat, on a boat…well, you get the picture.
    The overall thought behind the question, of course, is that if you just try them somewhere (or with something) new, you would like them! Which got me thinking. And I have to ask:
     "Where do you draw?"
    As artists, sometimes we become too comfortable with the "process" of creating art, or, for that matter, in practicing our craft. Do you only sketch if you have the a
Burning at Both Ends    August was a tough one, coming as it did on the tail end of July. I'm now at sketch 115, which puts me just a little behind of the 121 mark that I was shooting for. It's been a busy summer.
    The first two weeks of July, I traveled home to Seattle for a bit of fact finding to assess housing prices and the job market. Because I was all over the city, I got very little sketching done except some days of "live" work on the beaches around Whidbey Island. When I got back to China, I had two students "in the wings," who had arraigned to have one-on-one tutoring for a month. Also, I resumed my teaching at a private English school, and somehow, I got roped into a "Fashion Boy/Fashion Girl" talent contest (which I will never reveal the details of, so don't ask).     
    Running full speed into August, I found myself…burning…out…to…a…well…done,..crispy,..tater. I got sick. I took mid-August

Master of Bull, more than likely. And no one has been able to conquer China yet. They all become assimilated, lol. But I am wearing my Vortex T-shirt in this photo, and that has to count for something! :XD:

I hear that the Great Obama has plans to conquer China. hahahahahah. So how's it going over there? Is Rhonda with you? Are you doing any artist's alley style appearances in between teaching English? One of my friends is just coming back from teaching English with ELIC (Eng Lang Inst China). She liked it.
I just heard from Mike Kennedy last week. You remember him from Huntsville AL? He was as tall as me but wayyy bigger. He's doing fine.
Are you taking any kung fu lessons? I still practice occasionally but am more into weight lifting and cardio these days. I do practice the art of Trytokeepmoneyfromtaxman Fu.
